Not to be confused with the former ServeNow personal page -- we no longer post on that page and it will soon be deleted -- the official page gives process servers a platform to share their stories and tips, ask for advice, participate in contests and share process server news. Fans can also use the Facebook comment tool to comment on articles in the ServeNow Server Center.
Activities
There's always something happening on the ServeNow Facebook Page. Process Servers on LinkedIn
The Process Servers - LinkedIn group community discusses a range of industry-wide issues. Members often seek advice from their peers on marketing strategies, difficult serves, rules and regulations, and how to handle specific situations. These professionals also share industry news stories from a variety of publications and blogs. They also offer input and participate in surveys that help ServeNow create industry pieces like the Process Server vs. Sheriff infographic.
LinkedIn sports an interface that’s somewhat of a happy medium compared to the Facebook group. Default alerts are sent in a daily email unless it is for activity on a discussion you have started, for which you receive individual emails. The LinkedIn group is lightly regulated, and posts are generally removed if they are negative, irrelevant, or receive a lot of complaints.
Recent discussions
The broad range of topics in the LinkedIn group makes for a wide berth of information. Process servers have recently discussed problematic situations, like what to do if you’ve already paid a server that has not completed the job and problems with getting invoices paid. Many process servers reach out to each other when they need to hand off a serve. Others post recent news stories or invite group members to join associations.
Conclusion
With three active communities offering drastically different content and cultures, it is probably in your best interest to join two or three groups. Your firm will likely benefit from the general marketing information in the LinkedIn group. And every process server should take the time to catch up on the latest industry news and have a little fun on the ServeNow Facebook Page. No matter which group you choose to join your process serving firm will find a surplus of supportive peers and industry-relevant information.
