WEST CARTHAGE, NY -- Assistant Superintendent of Carthage Central School Jan B. LaRock is accused of assaulting a process server and is facing misdemeanor third-degree assault. The incident allegedly took place in 2009 when the process server tried to hand LaRock a subpoena. The subpoena was for LaRock's daughter to act as a witness in a pending case. LaRock allegedly refused to take the documents and followed the process server to his car where she allegedly thrust the car door against the process servers' arm and leg. LaRock denies the allegations and claims that the process server flung the papers at her and almost struck her in the eye. A judge might decide on the case this month.
